It is back. I received an email in my Spam folder this morning, 9.27.10
containing it. Warn your friends, it looks totally legit.

I recently received the UPS fraud email. I do have spyware, malware, and antivirus protection, but it still came through. I contacted UPS and they asked me to forward it to them at fraud@ups.com, which I did. I received another one tonight and I am forwarding that one to them also.

My boss received two emails from what supposed to be UPS. We do have an excellent anti virus program and when we tried to open the attachment we were alerted to the fact that it contained dangerous material or something of that sort. We were given the option to clean the computer and we did. I agree that we need to take responsibility and protect our computers from these viruses.

I think what theyre trying to say with blaming the UPS is their lack of contact information for people to get any information. They need to have contact information more readily available.

I would like to think that pretending to be united parcel service in order to benifit yourself would be illegal
and that UPS would have a fraud department that would prosecute and or fine someone for such things.

It's not an issue of expecting UPS to DO something. It's an issue of UPS letting people know, if they receive a suspicious message, that THEY know about the problem. PayPal does this easily enough with an e-mail address (spoofATpaypal.com) where you can send your suspicious message. This also helps the company keep track. UPS is not a mom-and-pop operation; they can do a minor amount of damage control without busting the bank, and create a much friendlier image.

I went to the UPS web site and found the fraud@ups.com email address.
If you just googled Ups email fraud you will find there fraud email adress. There web site does leave a lot to be desired but if you have a little intelgence you can find anything you want with most search engines.
